Semex - Jersey Australia Great Australian Challenge

The Semex Jersey Australia Great Australian Challenge is the largest judging competition for Jersey cattle in the southern hemisphere, attracting more than 1,600 entries from 750 breeders throughout Australia each year.

The Great Australian Challenge differs from conventional judging events in that cattle are assessed for their structural correctness on their home property. Entries are assessed for their inherent structural correctness using a 40-point scale over 18 traits.

Jersey Australia Cattle Clubs throughout the nation conduct their own on-farm challenges during spring. Victorian, Tasmanian and South Australian club winners qualify for the Great Southern Challenge whilst New South Wales and Queensland clubs compete for the Great Northern Challenge honours.  The winner from each class in the Great Northern and Great Southern then go on to compete for the title of the Great Australian Champion.
